Dnipro University of Technology — Compliance with the Time

LAB4All – Open Access Cyber-Physical Laboratories for Ukrainian Universities

A grant project from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the "Supporting the Internationalization of Ukrainian Universities: Shaping the Digital Future Together" program (Unterstützung der Internationalisierung ukrainischer Hochschulen: Digitale Zukunft gemeinsam gestalten)

Project objective

  • Creation of remote laboratory experiments on mechatronics, robotics and automatic control and their integration into the educational process of partner universities
  • Development of the latest approaches to education with elements of gamification
  • Spreading the experience of creating remote laboratory experiments among Ukrainian higher education institutions

Project phases

  • LAB project: October 2020 – September 2022
  • Lab4all project: November 2022 – August 2024

Project idea

Remote laboratory experiment is a web-based learning application that allows students to control and observe real industrial equipment via the Internet. The system includes a physical object - a robot, machine, or other mechanism - and a web-platform.

The platform contains an interactive dashboard for controlling the object, a window with real-time video, instructions for conducting experiments, and a page with tests to check the task.

This approach allows students from anywhere in Ukraine to remotely study robots and other mechanisms that are physically located at Dnipro Polytechnic and the University of Reutlingen.
